Nijuu - Nijuu in the sea

London based musician Nijuu released her debut EP today, June 25, titled “Nijuu in the sea.” She introduces herself, in these tracks, as naive and playful in her created “sea” world. Sometimes her voice sounds like it is in fact underwater, such as in the track “Revolving Door”, other times she is up close whispering in our ears. Singing in both English and Korean, in the opening track “Blue” we are invited to join the floating watercolor world, waves, while the word blue is consistently repeating itself. A wave traveling into her ocean dreamscape. 

Though we are invited, it also seems that Nijuu is somewhat alone in this “sea.” A soft spoken voice sings above a multitude of instruments. An acoustic guitar, synthesizers, electronic drums, piano, and more. Her voice floats above all the music. It is comforting to listen to her speaking honestly, or dancing her loneliness away in her aquatic dream world that creates the album.
