Star

Eygló and myself are no strangers to one another after my feature on her late last summer. Both Eygló and her garments demand attention, intertwined with an effortless nature, so when she approached me to work with her on the upcoming release of her newest collection ‘STAR’, I immediately said yes without any hesitation. With the collection being very much so inspired by singer-actress Guðrún Eyfjörð, or GDRN as her stage name, we thought it would be elegantly fitting for herself to model the collection. Eygló explains to me that “the ‘STAR’ collection was actually inspired greatly by Guðrún. She came to us in Kiosk (a shop co-owned by Eygló and 4 other designers) and was looking for a stage outfit a few months ago. I knew immediately that I wanted to do something glamorous and slightly over the top, a little bit of a "The Bold and the Beautiful" vibe. During Covid people have obviously been going to fewer parties and the chances to dress up and go out have been close to zero in 2020. This collection represents the need to shine "like a star" and to be seen.

With these words in mind, we present to you the ‘STAR’ collection, to feast your eyes on during these introverted and turmoil times. Hopefully soon, pieces like these can again be worn on stage, or on top of tables for that matter, in an overcrowded bar being my preference.
